Monster Tooth (Fairy) Pillow!

Landon is about to lose his first tooth! I can't believe he's old enough for that. He's getting so big!

Anyway, I wanted to make him a pillow to hold his tooth (and money) on his doorknob. I am not into hiding it under pillows, especially since he plays in bed for an hour or so before passing out. Who knows where that tooth (and money) would end up! I scoured Pinterest for ideas. I was thinking about a tooth shaped stuffed doll but saw a few monster ones. This picture was my inspiration, but the picture led no where, so I just looked at the picture and ran with it!

( I love his white eye and little teeth! The white eye is a white button with a smaller black on, on top.)

Before I sewed the backing on, I thought about adding arms and legs, but I figure it was suppose to be small... so I decided against it. Now, I'm sort of wishing I had added them. Landon asked me for a BIGGER one, so I will add arms and legs, then. And it'll just be a stuffed animal. :)

I just used what I had on hand to make this, if I had gone to the store, it probably would have been a bit better. ;) But, it serves it's purpose and Landon loves it, that's all that matters! I do think it's pretty cute, though!

Green Smoothies!

We've been clean eating around here, lately. Me more than the rest of the family. (I'm at 100%) But, whenever I cook or prepare food for the family, it's clean! Tonight we decided to try out a green smoothie! We've made some in the past, but never with pineapple, yum!

For this smoothie, we added:

1 cup frozen pineapple (fresh, that I froze)
2 bananas
1 cup of water
1 6oz container of Greek plain yogurt
4 large strawberries
2 big handfuls of spinach

and BLEND!  This made about 3 of these cups full.

Kid tested and approved! She couldn't get enough of it!

Good to the last drop!

Enjoy!!

Emmelyn's New Dress!

On Pinterest I have a board devoted to sewing! There are so many great ideas out there! While Emmelyn was napping, today, I decided to make her a dress. I haven't used my sewing machine since we PCS'd from Nebraska! After looking through all of my pins, I found a few I liked and opened them. They either didn't have a tutorial or they were an Etsy website to buy them.

Bummer.

I decided to do my own thing, and I am so glad that I did. Her dress turned out super cute!

The neck is like a halter top and is extra long for a great bow!

I decided to add some cute buttons to the back to give it some character!

Here's Emmelyn enjoying her new dress!

I do not have a tutorial on this dress, as I just made it up as I went. But it really isn't too hard to make. :) If I decide to do another, I'll be sure to take pictures during the process!
