This is our fifth and final box, for the time being. So far she has gotten bored of them, so I won't be updating the boxes until she does. At which time, I will gladly share the new boxes! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is quite possible, that this box was Emmelyn's favorite one! Probably because of the beads! </div>

Our 5th Busy Box contained: Pipe cleaners, pony beads, ocean puzzle, small erasers, magnetic shapes, two tweezers, and <a href="http://t3397.myubam.com/p/1582/max-and-millie-start-school">Usborne's Max and Millie Start School book</a>. As always, the metal cookie sheet is next to the busy boxes to be used for all of them. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They used the tweezers to pick up the small erasers. This is still hard for her to do, maybe because of the size of the erasers, they're a little big. She finds it easier to pick up the pom poms and smaller items like that. (I found the erasers at the dollar store)</div>

I apologize for the delay in sharing our fourth busy box! I don't get on the computer often, unless I really need to, so I sometimes forget to update my blog. We played with our fourth box a while ago and just like the other three before, it was a success!</div>

It is time to share with you our third busy box! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Our third box's theme is all about letters! In this box I have included our alphabet puzzle, two books, magnetic alphabet pieces, a measuring cup, measuring scoop, two tweezers, cotton balls as our sensory item, and some plastic cups. The cookie sheet is always next to the bins, for use. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

My daughter loves the cotton balls and actually calls them "marshmallows." Too cute! She enjoyed scooping the "marshmallows" and filling the containers. </div>

She adores the<a href="http://t3397.myubam.com/p/1045/lift-the-flap-word-book"> Usborne's Lift-the-flap Word Book</a> and so do I! What a great learning tool! In the first picture, she would lift a flap and find the corresponding picture on the left page. On the second picture, under the flaps of the children are words for what they are doing. On the bottom are those words again, when you lift those flaps you will see a smaller picture of children doing those actions. </div>

Thank you for stopping by to check out our second busy box! If you missed our first busy box, check it out <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2013/08/whats-in-busy-box-1.html">here</a>!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This box's theme is "Numbers!" Again, we have a puzzle, two books, and a sensory item, in this case it is rice. Which is very messy, but you can pick it up and vacuum the rest. No big deal. Our classroom carpet is old and low grade, so it's easy to clean up. Most of her mess stays on the cookie sheet. We also have flash cards in this bin, just because I have them, but we never use them. She does like to play with cards, though. I have included magnetic numbers (Dollar Tree), <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Bear-Counters-102-ct/dp/B0006PKZ7W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1376238125&sr=8-2&keywords=counting+bears">Counting Bears</a>, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Easy-Tweezers-LER1963/dp/B00361NV88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376238165&sr=8-1&keywords=preschool+tweezers">Tweezers</a>, cups for sorting, and a small strainer. (10pk of cups and strainer also found at Dollar Tree.) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
One of the books I have included is this <a href="http://t3397.myubam.com/p/1106/lift-the-flap-counting-book">Lift the flaps Counting Book</a>. (I am an Usborne consultant and love their books for homeschool!) This book is great and we both love it!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
She first started using the cups for sorting her bears by colors! (There are six colors to the bears, but the orange and red are very close and it's hard for her to tell the difference at this point, so she ended up combining them.)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then she saw the rice!! The cups became great scoops and the bears went for a swim in the rice! Her brother thought this was fun, so he joined in. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Today, I will be sharing with you what is in our first busy box. These items will all be rotated out every few weeks, or if I find she's bored with them. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Box one is a "Farm Theme" box! She was very thrilled to see this box, yesterday. She had no idea I was making these for her. Now the barn is something I made for them earlier this summer and does not go inside the box. I just bring it down for her to play with. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ9dd9Ar2JqVRrpE0643ZWUcv22SJjb8M8C6NnLVM7v4UyzSOZKOhk9k58Ne9FMyGKcCQpUsDu7BT8is2H5sHT0bTTPi-bL-RU1CByPgKxjmQMkNAJofP093FtsnwMLOhNeUWFGSR6EEE/s1600/photo%252830%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ9dd9Ar2JqVRrpE0643ZWUcv22SJjb8M8C6NnLVM7v4UyzSOZKOhk9k58Ne9FMyGKcCQpUsDu7BT8is2H5sHT0bTTPi-bL-RU1CByPgKxjmQMkNAJofP093FtsnwMLOhNeUWFGSR6EEE/s640/photo%252830%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Each of my five busy boxes will include one puzzles, 1-2 books, one container of sensory items (in this case, rocks) and two large tweezers. One for her and one for myself or her brother to play along with her, if needed. The tweezers were found on amazon, <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Resources-Easy-Tweezers-LER1963/dp/B00361NV88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376236167&sr=8-1&keywords=preschool+tweezers">here</a> and the farm animals are <a href="http://www.amazon.com/US-Toy-Company-2386-Animals/dp/B002YQR2Y0/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1376236275&sr=8-8&keywords=farm+animals">these</a>. The rocks we are using as a sensory we found at the Dollar Tree, as well as, the erasers and little mickey character figures. She was VERY excited about Mickey being in this box. I know, not really farm related, but I figured she could have them ride the animals or work on the farm. </div>

The tweezers are great to practice those fine motor skills! She practiced picking up the erasers and rocks, which were kind of slippery. Next to where I store the busy boxes I keep this cookie sheet (Dollar Tree) to help contain any messes. Plus some boxes contain magnets. </div>

After I was done helping my son with science for the day, I sat and read the books to my daughter and we used the characters to make the book more fun. She loved this! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All in all, this box was a total hit! All of the items in the box, we already had around the house! So, double success! I hope this helps you build your own busy box! Stay tuned for the rest of our busy boxes! Oh, the containers were found at Target for $2.50ish. They were on sale. </div>

After homeschooling for a year, I was able to get a feel for what worked and what didn't work in our school space. And since then, we've added a bit more stuff to our class! I'd love to share it with you all! Here is our school room from last year: <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2012/05/homeschool-classroomdining-room.html">here</a> and <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2012/08/classroom-redo.html">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These pictures were taken with my cell phone, so please excuse the quality. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyg1DHzca4trdaAHhATv-J8HIOhHCVhWehRgVymTfo9T7HlIBYe4tq7RXiq1p9Lyo000O0mPITUKmpkSGThPbpkbyFhGNjZ2FKT5j8CWsjgWZV0MV0IcZZRfVUCHvLTP2brE6p-bJ9d0k/s1600/969370_801405106222_1419011575_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyg1DHzca4trdaAHhATv-J8HIOhHCVhWehRgVymTfo9T7HlIBYe4tq7RXiq1p9Lyo000O0mPITUKmpkSGThPbpkbyFhGNjZ2FKT5j8CWsjgWZV0MV0IcZZRfVUCHvLTP2brE6p-bJ9d0k/s640/969370_801405106222_1419011575_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Over here, we have our work desk, we all three sit here, it's plenty big enough for us. We keep our paint brushes, and other pencils, pens and such that we use often in the buckets above the table (found at Ikea) Behind the table is our storage space, pictures below. Not a lot has changed in this first picture, just a few more things on the walls.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_MADapx_W8EzUPiH8HIRDWZpgzU7ZVlyDcDANu60xNX33XNSzscTfXvHTa5fGGz1emOnX20mgE-74PtHgtm5uhEWjsZ_wHBp0D8F_ltkfOHDtF4ot9wKZLIFEyuLoSsLuLfLafzjblXM/s1600/1001372_801405006422_57162068_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_MADapx_W8EzUPiH8HIRDWZpgzU7ZVlyDcDANu60xNX33XNSzscTfXvHTa5fGGz1emOnX20mgE-74PtHgtm5uhEWjsZ_wHBp0D8F_ltkfOHDtF4ot9wKZLIFEyuLoSsLuLfLafzjblXM/s640/1001372_801405006422_57162068_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
In this second picture we now have work boxes (from Ikea) in front of the fireplaces, which was just a waste of space, before. We like this system better than the box we used to have sitting on top of our desk. It creates more space on our desk and my son knows what he needs to do for the day, without asking.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Above the fireplace we have moved our masterpiece wire to stretch across the room. We will hang our weekly artwork up here. I really love this, so when daddy comes home from work he can see what everyone has done that day. We've also replaced the old printer stand and moved that to the <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2013/05/kitchen-remodel-for-350.html">kitchen</a> and moved this shelf out of my daughters room to the classroom. It works well in here. The bins hold blocks and big Legos and some other things. The basket next to the red hutch holds our library books; found this at Hobby Lobby.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2hssd3PdBFgxTy32BjvVi_t2Px3KAqPs11Ta0fCmqzN-l4a6LZn8RfAI5kX7iYHn_aqTSEbIxePBUrO8vk4Fs0x-laICPyiluqyCNCN9jUhzpbIlf2j7wkNvO8DOCS4FELxIVfS90_EI/s1600/photo(26)+copy+3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2hssd3PdBFgxTy32BjvVi_t2Px3KAqPs11Ta0fCmqzN-l4a6LZn8RfAI5kX7iYHn_aqTSEbIxePBUrO8vk4Fs0x-laICPyiluqyCNCN9jUhzpbIlf2j7wkNvO8DOCS4FELxIVfS90_EI/s640/photo(26)+copy+3.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Jars are full of little things like beads, googly eyes, tacks, etc. the baskets have scissors, pencils, and big tweezers. On the shelf we currently have our fossils, shells, and shark teeth we found at Calvert Cliffs State Park, in Maryland. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Inside our storage space, I am using a shoe holder to store our small tools. I clipped pieces of paper on to each pocket as a label. The bottom rows have things for the kids like pencils, pens, markers, etc. The top are things I don't want them messing with. Next to that is a tack with their aprons for messy projects. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpO1UGeN1EAcjqtn_Fw1XsfLKoH3TJLbNqZitRgMbCvllVfuOXgbKiNfZazKqXuvU9R6nr0xvOgbzhaW2MAvGcXAC7ZEn8mlL95UX4Sgj3re0bWM1N0o9s7f42c59yf-7y84Cq7FflkF4/s1600/1004096_801405774882_1465765851_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpO1UGeN1EAcjqtn_Fw1XsfLKoH3TJLbNqZitRgMbCvllVfuOXgbKiNfZazKqXuvU9R6nr0xvOgbzhaW2MAvGcXAC7ZEn8mlL95UX4Sgj3re0bWM1N0o9s7f42c59yf-7y84Cq7FflkF4/s640/1004096_801405774882_1465765851_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the other side of the storage nook is an Ikea bookshelf that I have categorized our school books in. I absolutely LOVE this! It makes my life so much easier! I can find any book I need in two seconds. On the lower shelves I have Manipulatives. Each basket on the bottom is for either Science, Math, or Arts/crafts. The one closest to the wall is for small recyclables like toilet paper rolls and jars. On the floor there are bigger items, paper bags, boxes and anything else that wouldn't fit. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

These are my daughters work boxes that I just finished up! I am pretty proud of them and plan to share them in some up coming blog posts, so stay tuned for those! </div>

After living in our house a year, we finally got around to adding some color to our brown, brown, and more BROWN kitchen. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB20wANRHvqi_CCseT9IjDibNZzXPOTDOe_iQg09IQo_v3cx8QBekMrrLD1PD3VthatAn3XTszXo_YpOrYKrBvHBSAtb5m8iMQghesChvEOB0rF_KI09Hf005FNfVtdXuludimTLkQ8Pw/s1600/576599_753403212402_507789625_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="424" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhB20wANRHvqi_CCseT9IjDibNZzXPOTDOe_iQg09IQo_v3cx8QBekMrrLD1PD3VthatAn3XTszXo_YpOrYKrBvHBSAtb5m8iMQghesChvEOB0rF_KI09Hf005FNfVtdXuludimTLkQ8Pw/s640/576599_753403212402_507789625_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It was a time consuming project, I'm not going to lie. But, to tell you the truth, I really thought it would be a lot harder than it was!<br />
<br />
When we first moved into our house, I told my husband that I would like to just paint the cabinets and that I could do it for a couple hundred bucks. Everything was new, why rip it out. Besides, this isn't our forever home, since we're military. We just need to make it nicer and easier to sell in 4 years. (Three, now) He wasn't really digging that idea. I humored him and we went to Home Depot and priced out what he would liked done to the kitchen... it would cost a few THOUSAND dollars... like probably 8k at least. Yea, not happening.<br />
<br />
Eventually, he came my way. As usually! We set out to redo our kitchen after my daughters second birthday in early April. It took us about two weeks to finish, because we were working during my husbands weekends. So all-in-all, about 4-5 days of work. LONG days of work. Totally worth it though! <br />
<br />
We started out by taking all of the doors off the cabinets. We labeled the doors, while doing so with sticky notes. But, by the end half of them had fallen off. I tried to keep the sticky notes with the doors, still, but my husband had stopped trying, so that was fun...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9o5aUkm3YbUGxaTULGJrS2Xpd8TP_PoONZoYN0Hln2xEBCt7Bn0sTTh6oX005NZKpLUYzrAjAFCFyc99epO0_rfCsSicBbRQR7Jlw_y1KEfWOX7meCzdYRqGQ0rOp3s0PuxGiauuakT4/s1600/photo%252829%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9o5aUkm3YbUGxaTULGJrS2Xpd8TP_PoONZoYN0Hln2xEBCt7Bn0sTTh6oX005NZKpLUYzrAjAFCFyc99epO0_rfCsSicBbRQR7Jlw_y1KEfWOX7meCzdYRqGQ0rOp3s0PuxGiauuakT4/s400/photo%252829%2529.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
Start out by finding yourself a cute little helper!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSyWXhONAPO9OODI0zC9MqKZEWuWUApx8vFOWbvZgausaVgJAyObhYa7pcyrgO0sy12GvPea7ZNmp8bggju33iOM4j5wSU4NnhfX0Y0wwV6vE8p26BR2U9kbD5rpen0ODR0zdxHZF32d8/s1600/photo%252828%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSyWXhONAPO9OODI0zC9MqKZEWuWUApx8vFOWbvZgausaVgJAyObhYa7pcyrgO0sy12GvPea7ZNmp8bggju33iOM4j5wSU4NnhfX0Y0wwV6vE8p26BR2U9kbD5rpen0ODR0zdxHZF32d8/s400/photo%252828%2529.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
At this point in the game, I was starting to become a little overwhelmed by all the doors.<br />
<br />
Side note: I painted the fronts first, I would recommend painting the backs first. Because I had to touch up the fronts on some of these, I don't care about the backs as much as the fronts...<br />
<br />
I painted the doors with three coats of paint on the fronts and two on the backs. Afterwards, I did three coats of polyurethane. We did the same thing for the cabinets. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNlki7FBMPgtBYAECZZXhJAU6-MtDVjLoh5Iu3qHKxtl4Y11wEhJMlmZln_Hj6oD4YFFxFSUc6nCjbigCWx3z3igHg8HJF22HmYq2S0Q1aJG41nBicUWdA8y3l09WMT5oBzdDesQi-3f4/s1600/photo%252826%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNlki7FBMPgtBYAECZZXhJAU6-MtDVjLoh5Iu3qHKxtl4Y11wEhJMlmZln_Hj6oD4YFFxFSUc6nCjbigCWx3z3igHg8HJF22HmYq2S0Q1aJG41nBicUWdA8y3l09WMT5oBzdDesQi-3f4/s640/photo%252826%2529.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
In this picture, you can see the light fixture. We had discussed replacing it, as well. But, for now, I just painted it white. I actually like it like that. But, if this was our forever home, I'm sure we'd replace it and the counters. Which are actually really nice corian counters. I just don't like the color. <br />

One thing I absolutely hated about these cabinets was the lack of a knob or handle! Especially on the long drawer in the island. I was always bending or breaking my nails on that one. So, we drilled holes into all the cabinets and drawers and added knobs.<br />
<br />
After reattaching the doors, we had to wait a while for our back splash to arrive. We ordered it from Lowes, and I just love it! I decided I wanted a blue and white themed because of my <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2013/01/kitchen-hutch.html">hutch</a> in the kitchen and the <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2013/01/chalk-board-frame.html">chalk board frame</a>, both of which are a blue color. It all pulls together, nicely!<br />
<br />
While we waited, we painted our walls a nice stone grey.<br />
<br />

Once the tile arrived we started marking out the tile mounters and getting them ready to place the tiles. My husband had to leave for a work meeting and boy scouts with our son on this day, so I ended up doing most of this myself. I tell you what, I never would have thought I was capable of laying tile before this project!<br />

Before grout. <br />
<br />
Now, here's for the fun part, the REVEAL! Now, keep in mind.. for these first few pictures, we moved the old stove over to the MIL suite and moved that stove over to our side. For some reason the stove over there was nicer and it just happened to match our stuff. The last picture is the complete package!<br />
<br />
Here is again, before!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

So, this isn't the BEST picture, but here it is with the other stove moved in. I've added a few little changes here and there, as far as decorations go.<br />
<br />
I love my kitchen a whole lot more, now!<br />
<br />
<br />
Here is the break down of what everything cost us:<br />
<br />
White paint- $20<br />
grey paint- $46 (two cans)<br />
Poly- $4<br />
Knobs- $39<br />
Back Splash- $150<br />
Grout- $29<br />
Tile Mounter- $40<br />
Brushes- $15<br />
Tape- $10<br />
_________<br />
Total: $ 353<br />
<br />
And I still have paint and poly left over for future projects!<br />
<br />
What do you think? <br />
<br />

I know I promised an update on our kitchen remodel, but that blog is going to take a lot of time to write, and I just haven't gotten around to it, yet. I have started it... so, maybe soon. I am LOVING my kitchen remodel, though and can't wait to share it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My MIL was in town earlier this month, so that has contributed a bit to my delays in blogging, but we've just been busy around here. Landon and I just wrapped up our first year of homeschooling! (First Grade) I can't believe how fast that went. The first thing he said when he realized we were done was, "When can I start second grade work?!" He is definitely my kid! He was also very sad when we finished our solar system studies. I wasn't planning on starting school back up until August, (besides a few fun games and science projects here and there) But, I may have to start sooner than I planned. He just can't wait and is asking me daily if he can start his new work! I love his enthusiasm! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well, anyway, back to the point of this post. I have been looking for MONTHS for the RIGHT dresser to use as a buffet in my dining room and I finally found one! </div>

I decided to sand the top and restain it. I choose a light sage like color because my curtains are a sage. I also spray painted all of the hardware. </div>

I really love this buffet and it has a ton of storage. It's still mostly empty. So far all I have in it is place mats and coloring stuff for the kids. But, I am sure it'll be filled up soon enough!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The bulletin board on top of the buffet will have pictures on it, soon. Hung up with mini cloth pins. I just haven't gotten to it, yet, as I just finished it. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I took an old frame apart that I bought a few years ago at a thrift store, and painted the frame black. I also decided to add a "B" for our last name. After that I took the old cardboard backing and covered it in burlap fabric and randomly placed twine strings across the surface. I stapled them on the back. With a regular stapler, and then I hot glued them once I was done with it all. Just to make sure. Pushed the cardboard back in and put two nails in place to hold the backing in. I then added picture hooks to the top. Very easy day project that I love! </div>

I started my day with a delicious bowl of Almond Joy inspired oatmeal, which totally hit my chocolate craving spot. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After lunch, while my daughter was napping I had planned to throw some kind of granola bars together. I knew I was going to use oats (duh) and bananas because I have plenty that are pretty ripe. And since the coconut was still out on the counter (oops) I just threw everything together!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2- Cups Oats </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1- Cup unsweetened Coconut</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1- 1/2 tsp Unsweetened Cocoa </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(I actually did not measure the cocoa, but it's bitter so don't add too much) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 Large Ripe Bananas</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/3 Cup Coconut Milk (or milk of choice)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1-1/2 TBS Pure Vanilla Extract</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Optional: Almonds, Chocolate Chips</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(If needed, add a little pure maple syrup to your mixture.) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Feel free to mix in anything you'd like. I added my almonds on top, but you could mix them in. Or added chocolate chips in, as well. I only laid mine on top with the almonds. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Directions:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mash up your bananas then mix everything together. If you want your mix-ins on top then wait until later. Prepare your baking sheet or pan. I used parchment paper that I lightly greased. I shaped my mixture into a square and flattened with a fork. I then neatly laid my almonds and chips on top. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes and then cut up. I am storing mine in a container in the fridge. </div>

A lot has happened in the past month. We have been super busy, so I have been slacking in the blog world, I apologize for that. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
On April 9th, Emmelyn turned two years old! Hard to believe, but it has come and gone already! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She had a great birthday party on the 6th with a few friends. I tried really hard to make the menu for her party clean, and I succeeded in doing so... except for the PBJ sandwiches. Even her cake! That was the hardest part... I made three test cakes in the month leading up to her birthday before deciding on my <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2013/02/oatmeal-banana-muffins-clean-flourless.html">banana muffin recipe</a> baked as a cake. I made a strawberry cream cheese frosting for it, and called it a day. My family loved it! Especially the birthday girl, who loves bananas and strawberries! </div>

<b>Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting:</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Three blocks of soften cream cheese</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup of fresh strawberries, cleaned and stems removed</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pure maple syrup, to taste</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Blend up your strawberries then add your cream cheese and maple syrup in. I added the syrup in a TBS at a time until I liked the taste and consistency of the frosting. I probably used about 3 TBS. It may will depend on your strawberries and their tartness. </div>

For the party, I set up a wall for a fun "photo booth," and it was so much fun! All of our guests seemed to enjoy this part and it really fit in with her "dress up party" theme. I had a lot of costumes and such out for the kids to wear, but we also had a playset and bounce house in the back yard and it was such a beautiful day out, no one was inside much. </div>

Since her birthday fell on a Tuesday, we celebrated on Saturday. On Monday, we explored the National Harbor in D.C., including the Children's Museum for their 1/2 price Military day. They had a real pig's lung on display for us to touch and play with, what a great surprise! We took a picnic lunch with us and ate it on the Harbor. Afterwards, we found Ben & Jerry's and the four of us shared a banana split! Sometimes you just have to indulge a little.</div>

Well, I finally did it! I finally got around to making a growth chart. I've only been meaning to since before my daughter was born. Probably even conceived. Oh well, better than never. It's a good thing I've stayed on top of both of their baby books, so that I can easily fill in the growth chart! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The best part about this project... it was 100% free! The previous owners of our house had left some wood in the shed, so I didn't need to buy any! And I just used paint and stain we had on hand.</div>

We love breakfast around here, but sometimes it starts to get old, the same stuff over and over. I made our normal spinach and eggs into a frittata a couple of weeks ago and it was really good! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
9 eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Turkey Ham</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Spinach</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Onions</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cheese (optional)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Olive Oil </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Seasonings of choice</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Directions:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I sauteed my onions and spinach together in a little olive oil. Chopped up the turkey ham and added it all to a pie pan. Then mix your eggs up and pour it over the top of the spinach mixture. Add cheese on top if you'd like. Bake at 350, until done. I believe it was 30-40 minutes. </div>

And there you have it, a different way to make your same old breakfast! My family of four had plenty of leftovers and it holds up pretty well the next day. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This french toast is simply amazing! In my mind, anyway! My kids gobble this one up and ask for more! It's super easy and you really don't need syrup! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiymSdTWG6AT-sPr7rIN-kdGYOKBp85c7PHfaCCWqXBGvc44-fIAaN8YWU4CH3xCOl6PQqGhvSmvQEyOvqPcyict_yvqU_0TcprtixzaePnd7qMmUJUf5GbZ1PYzFZEGXSYKgcAd0QxQk/s1600/photo(20).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiymSdTWG6AT-sPr7rIN-kdGYOKBp85c7PHfaCCWqXBGvc44-fIAaN8YWU4CH3xCOl6PQqGhvSmvQEyOvqPcyict_yvqU_0TcprtixzaePnd7qMmUJUf5GbZ1PYzFZEGXSYKgcAd0QxQk/s640/photo(20).JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Don't mind my chipped plate, oops!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Banana</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Vanilla</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cinnamon<br />Coconut milk (canned or carton)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
bread </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whatever else you usually add to your french toast</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's what you do:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Take that banana and mash it up really good then mix it together with your eggs and remaining ingredients. The amount of ingredients really depends on how much french toast you need to make. I use some coconut oil on my griddle to cook these. They really taste like banana bread to me. So yummy! Hope you like them!</div>

While scrolling across Pinterest a week or so ago, I came across <a href="http://517creations.blogspot.com/2013/02/diy-love-hand-and-footprints.html">this fun sign</a> that I just had to make!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I set out to make it right away and I couldn't be happier with the finished product!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided this would hang above our bed. Our bedding is white and grey and our curtains are grey. I decided to paint the board white, and the letters grey. And have the hand and footprints be blue, since that's the color of our walls. I think it really pulls everything together in there. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took some left over plywood that we had laying around from building a new hatch door to the crawl space... I didn't even have to cut it! Yay! Then I painted it white, with the leftover paint from a previous project. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhht3c4llmczjCTD2SiPh-3HqEQ-0WhvvAHOL5gJhh4iOvR6UonmS4xI6hmG8lO1wdGIX_NwJo9H7AqUb0V51OwKfe1fXzFxg2JvrjWiP7D-rYq3jBztAYkDqIi-liz5ANEZvpUzz7njdY/s1600/photo(12).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhht3c4llmczjCTD2SiPh-3HqEQ-0WhvvAHOL5gJhh4iOvR6UonmS4xI6hmG8lO1wdGIX_NwJo9H7AqUb0V51OwKfe1fXzFxg2JvrjWiP7D-rYq3jBztAYkDqIi-liz5ANEZvpUzz7njdY/s400/photo(12).jpg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3tI31TXFAiDFa2XUtjyxdl1UuLOI08DqxGd3S3eQa_7KgBg7alg6LWxfs4PiZ7tbA-k-xQGtGm2zWHgv2mD0RVTXNULNjVsmwSK3YVlRtr0ynuaIV7U6aBgph_cpun7tlSp8_wT0tlyI/s1600/photo%252811%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3tI31TXFAiDFa2XUtjyxdl1UuLOI08DqxGd3S3eQa_7KgBg7alg6LWxfs4PiZ7tbA-k-xQGtGm2zWHgv2mD0RVTXNULNjVsmwSK3YVlRtr0ynuaIV7U6aBgph_cpun7tlSp8_wT0tlyI/s640/photo%252811%2529.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's probably hard to see, but I then printed out a huge "L" and "e" and cut them out then traced them on to my board. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I carefully had my son place his hand on the board and then had my husband help me with my daughter's feet. I free handed the heart and filled in the letters. Once everything dried, I added some picture frame hooks to the back and called it a day! </div>

I adore the finished product! We seriously had nothing on our bedroom walls besides our curtains, until now. But I really think this was the perfect thing to go above our bed! </div>

My favorite cookies are oatmeal raisin. I just love the spices! So, I set out to create my own CLEAN recipe that wasn't like those "breakfast" oatmeal cookies going around with banana as the sweetener. I wanted more of a REAL cookie. I have succeeded!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBUJWI6NVP1cnTR6y28W6uZRnvAvJABI60tg1_VfS0_8vX_kwdZBFGhqpHcGTfGjRlrolroXwJgSwxW7CVjcuExz0kAFAT-mfhVACWHizGmOz5N-_RmmuwjNrjXAhVk1qqzmt6IJAM2ck/s1600/photo(10).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBUJWI6NVP1cnTR6y28W6uZRnvAvJABI60tg1_VfS0_8vX_kwdZBFGhqpHcGTfGjRlrolroXwJgSwxW7CVjcuExz0kAFAT-mfhVACWHizGmOz5N-_RmmuwjNrjXAhVk1qqzmt6IJAM2ck/s640/photo(10).jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1-2/3 cups oats</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/8 tsp salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 tsp baking soda</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/8 cup melted coconut oil</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tsp cinnamon (I actually didn't measure this)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tsp vanilla (I didn't measure this)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (you could use less)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Add water a teaspoon at a time if needed, I didn't need it)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/3 cup raisins</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Directions: Preheat oven to 325. Mix all ingredients together. Then add raisins. Form dough into balls and place on parchment paper on cookie sheet. Push balls down a little. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bake for 10-15 minutes. They won't rise. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Dough may be a little crumbly, I just squished it together into balls, although adding a bit of water may have helped this. You could also use this as a granola.<br />
<br />
Mine made about 17 cookies and were about 66 calories each. Next time I think I will do a little less maple syrup, since we're used to less sweet things and I know I could get away with it.<br />
<br />
Enjoy! </div>

My daughter's second birthday is coming up and I found some adorable cupcake fabric at Hancock Fabrics a few weeks back. I just had to make her a dress! I don't have a tutorial, but it's pretty easy to throw together for someone who can make a basic dress. I just measured my daughter and made rectangles for the most part. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRfw6mb-TOOYbvOkbpIDo3rHGf-DsjRtRELgJOomZ8wXOm4mEUL4s69QFzcVOn_7LalKiOcyW_w0dTX12B0lajNGK8lgNFmyJwRD3s1fLS3L99cYtUen8frLqYjBvyc4OIuUPgJyPCbUc/s1600/DSC_0017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRfw6mb-TOOYbvOkbpIDo3rHGf-DsjRtRELgJOomZ8wXOm4mEUL4s69QFzcVOn_7LalKiOcyW_w0dTX12B0lajNGK8lgNFmyJwRD3s1fLS3L99cYtUen8frLqYjBvyc4OIuUPgJyPCbUc/s640/DSC_0017.JPG" width="424" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the straps, I used pre-made ruffle stuff I had laying around the house. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The red strips are both about 3 inches wide. and the middle piece I believe was 13 inches... I measured under her armpit, to about where I wanted the dress to hit and then drew out the dress on paper and did the math. That's how I always figure out my dimensions when I freestyle. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There are a lot of tutorials on the web for how to ruffle fabric to make them cinch at the bodice. Next time I made her a dress, I'll be sure to take picture during the process! </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We found this bookshelf thing a few months back on a yard sale page and I finally got around to fixing it up last month. I really love the final look of it, so I thought I'd share it. It's currently being used as a night stand for my side of the bed. I am keeping an eye out for something similar for my husband's side.. he thinks they should be matchy... or close enough. ;) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I decided on a white paint and used the same homemade chalk paint recipe I used for my <a href="http://airforcefamilyadventures.blogspot.com/2013/01/kitchen-hutch.html">hutch</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After cleaning it up, I started painting. It needed about three coats of paint. White doesn't cover as well as the blue for the hutch, had. After it had all dried. I sanded on some of the edges for an aged look. Wiped it up again and then added a clear wax coat to it. </div>

My six year old has been having a whiny bit of a hard time with our transition to 100% (or close to it) clean eating. While I do make lots of delicious muffins and smoothies that are sweet.. and even the occasional kettle corn. When we go to the store, he's constantly whining about not getting his old treats. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made it my mission to prove to him that you can eat healthy and have your old "treats" and they can taste just as good or better! Today I gave him a few options and he choose chocolate chip cookies! There is nothing better than a warm chocolate chip cookie! I think I will try this recipe again, with oat flour and raisins instead of flour and chips!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx3u6aoKmc363HDXlzJLuczmE4cLFOmEjLTBWJNxpmJxOFALY1ZfPA383T7pz93Q_nqypKIbhJSFgpOqBhI5FIXYLXDhk7JBzzCKOn3eAVy_RlaNG3Ax8I4HV1TPU2qTkWEfxWB8jPs2Q/s1600/photo(10).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx3u6aoKmc363HDXlzJLuczmE4cLFOmEjLTBWJNxpmJxOFALY1ZfPA383T7pz93Q_nqypKIbhJSFgpOqBhI5FIXYLXDhk7JBzzCKOn3eAVy_RlaNG3Ax8I4HV1TPU2qTkWEfxWB8jPs2Q/s640/photo(10).JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 tsp baking soda </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/8 tsp of salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup pure maple syrup (a little more if you like it sweeter)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/8 cup coconut oil </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4 TBS water (more if needed)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Chocolate chips or mix in of choice. I added coconut to half. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Directions:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Preheat oven to 325. Mix all dry ingredients in medium bowl. Add wet ingredients, mix well. Add mix ins. Bake for about 10-15 minutes. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Will make about 20 cookies, depending on the size you make them. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Enjoy! My kids sure did! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And my husband said they taste better than the normal kind, I'll take that as a win! </div>

These are my favorite muffins to use as a base or just as is! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We have added apples, strawberries, raisins, and blueberries to them. You could add nuts, chocolate chips, or whatever you'd like, really.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They're super easy, too. Especially if you keep it all in the blender after you make your oat flour. To make oat flour, you just blend your oats. Easy! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2- 1/2 cups old fashioned oats</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup of honey (more if you like it sweeter)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup of Greek yogurt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 ripe bananas</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tsp baking soda</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 tsp baking powder</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 tsp vanilla</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Directions:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Blend your oats and then add other ingredients to blender. Blend well. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pour batter into your muffin tin liners and bake for about 15 minutes or until done. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Let cool. Mine tend to stick to paper the first day, but not the following days. I store them in the fridge for a few days, if they last that long. </div>

The kids and I had a lot of fun trying this snack out!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We took bananas, strawberries, and kiwis and dipped them in some Greek yogurt, then rolled them in crushed peanuts, Almonds, and shredded coconut! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />Afterwards we froze them for a couple hours. The strawberries and kiwis were kind of sour, but Emmelyn loved them anyway. The bananas were like ice cream. Yum! Next time, I'll probably just make the banana ones, unless Emmelyn wants some strawberries. </div>

Last night the kids and I had an impromptu movie night, don't you just love those! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well, I decided to make some popcorn, and our favorite is kettle corn! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had never made my own before, but we make our own popcorn, all the time! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I use coconut oil in my wok and added in the popcorn and waited for it to pop. You could also you an air popper. I just don't have one, yet. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While that was working away I melted some clean butter in a sauce pan, added a tiny bit of salt and some honey. I am unsure how much.. maybe a tablespoon, maybe a little more. After the popcorn was done, I poured half into our big bowl and drilled some of the butter mixture on top, and stirred. Then poured the rest of the butter on top, and stirred some more. This was so good and the kids devoured it! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(Please excuse the poor cell phone picture in the dark. Take a picture was an afterthought.) </div>

I made the most delicious blueberry smoothie today, it was so much like a milkshake! Mmm, I could go for another one, just thinking about it! The cottage cheese is really what makes this, I believe. Just try it, you really can't taste it! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ingredients:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Frozen Blueberries (or fresh)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Frozen banana</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4th Cup of cottage cheese</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Almond milk (until it's the consistency you'd like it to be)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Throw all the ingredients in the blender and you're good to go! It's an amazing snack or dessert! MMMMmmmMMM! Enjoy!</div>

Back when we were stationed in Nebraska, my husband and I were wandering around the Thrift Store on base and came across two huge frames. They were only $2-$3 each and I knew I had to have them! I snatched them up and brought them home. Where they sat in my garage for the remainder of our time in Nebraska. About two years later, I finally got around to doing something with the biggest of the two. I had been planning to create a chalk board on my kitchen wall and using the frame to... well frame it. We have a long empty wall in the kitchen that needed something so this worked perfectly there! I decided to paint the frame the same color as the hutch! </div>

Today, I decided to try my hand at creating a clean blueberry cheesecake muffin recipe. It turned out pretty good and the whole family loves it! They're packed full of blueberries and very moist! </div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Blueberry Cheesecake Muffins</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">Makes about 36 muffins</span></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1TBS Baking Powder</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1tsp Baking Soda</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1tsp Salt</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1Tablesppon Vanilla</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 Cup Pure Maple Syrup</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
8 oz softened Cream Cheese</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 c Greek Yogurt </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(or blended cottage cheese, this is what I used because it's what I had on hand)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
4 Eggs</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup of Melted Butter </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(I think next time I will try coconut oil here)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup Milk<br />
(I used 3/4 cup of Almond milk because I had it on hand and the rest was coconut milk)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
2 Cup Blueberries </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Directions:</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In a medium bowl combine all dry ingredients and set aside. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In a large bowl, blend all the wet ingredients together with a hand mixer. (Save blueberries until the end.) Once everything is well combined, mix the cream cheese mixture in with the flour mixture. Mix well. Gentle fold in fresh or frozen blueberries. Fill your muffin papers 3/4ths of the way full. I baked for about 20-25 minutes, I would say. I didn't time it. I just kept an eye on it. </div>

If I could be in love with a piece of furniture, this would be the one!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I recently went to Goodwill and found this gem of a hutch for only
$22.50. It was originally $75 marked down a few times to $45. And I just
happened to go in on 1/2 price furniture day! SCORE!! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
It was a bit dented and scratched up and the top molding pieces needed to be glued back together for more stability, but nothing too major. I have read numerous furniture restoring blogs over the years that have mentioned Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and in the same breath how expensive it is and never thought twice about it. But after the<a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=8246031094804490061#editor/target=post;postID=2729411578695984061"> red hutch </a>I decided it might be a good idea to look into this Chalk Paint idea that eliminates the need for pre-sanding and priming. Why cause myself more work? My husband works long hours and his weekend time is limited and I wanted to get this done in one day, if possible, while he watched the children. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I posted a Facebook status about how Chalk Paint was so expensive and a friend mentioned making it myself. Duh, why didn't I think of that. Off to Pinterest I went. Here's the blog's recipe guidelines I used: <a href="http://www.iheartnaptime.net/chalk-paint/">Here</a>.<br />
<br />
I measured out about 2 cups of Harbor paint by Behr mixed in 4-TBS of Plaster of Paris and a little water and... man it doesn't get much easier than this, people! I'm telling you, this paint is amazing! It goes on nice and thick, like butter! One coat is all I needed on the doors and drawers. I did two on the rest of the body, but most areas, really didn't need it! The paint dries pretty fast too. After about an hour or two, I added the second coat. After that was dry, I started roughing up the edges with a piece of sandpaper. I added a wax layer to the wood work to seal the deal and spray painted my knobs with oil rubbed bronze. It's gorgeous and it looks great in my kitchen! Now I'm sure you're dying to see it! Please, tell me what you think! I think it's my best one, yet!</div>
