Here's what I've been up to, lately; Dying in the heat, (aren't we all?), Kindergarten graduation, crafting, family visiting, wandering North Beach, exploring D.C., celebrated a birthday, painting walls, celebrated our anniversary, roasting marshmallows, and watched fireworks. What about you all? Hope you had a great Fourth of July!
I don't have any finished projects to share with you today, just a bunch of on-going sneak peeks!
I am the proud mother of a First Grader!!!
We celebrated Michael's birthday!
We had a fabulous day in North Beach, MD walking the boardwalk! We stopped for lunch, walked all over (where Emmelyn insisted on walking the entire time, and was the hit of the show with people passing), stopped at the farmer's market and finally for some ice cream before heading home! It was a beautiful day!
The following day we took Mom to D.C to see the White House and the monuments. Boy was it hot! It was near 100 this day, but the remainding days that she was in town were hotter! We were drenched by the time we got back to our car!
My mom and kids at the Lincoln Monument! Landon was thrilled to see Lincoln, his favorite president.
F is for Flag!
I started working on some fabric letters for Emmelyn! (Great way to use up those fabric scraps!)
Found the tutorial, here!
We made Watermelon Slushies, which the kids LOVED!
Cut up your watermelon, freeze some of the chunks, blend it (might need to add some water) and then serve! A very nice cold treat for these hot days!
After my Mom headed home, I began working on my soon to be craft room. It was a pretty boring room with ugly carpet, plain walls, and a RED fireplace.
Eventually we want to get new carpet, but this carpet kinda works for a craft room, for now. Albeit, it's ugly! So, here's what I've done so far, I white washed the fireplace and painted the walls a nice blue. I have my desk and shelving now, too, but they are not in their final stages. I will post pictures of that, later.
On July 1st, Michael and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary! We've been incredibly blessed with this beautiful loving family!
13 fabrics-100's or squares-Beginning of a quilt
I also began working on my quilt, finally! I bought this fabric last fall when I bought the fabric to make the kids and Michael each a quilt. Stuff for myself always get put on the back burner. That being said, it'll probably be a while before this is finished.
Lastly, we celebrated the Fourth of July!
I was able to put Emmelyn's hair into a few ponies!
We roasted marshmallows!
We watched fireworks in our driveway
We sweated.... a lot!
Here is my favorite picture from this last month!
Isn't she beautiful?
